Connecting #3 to #6 (for digi in) at the recording D7, #6 from playing D7 to #6 of recoring D7 (ground) and #1 (TX) form playing D7 to #5 (RX) of recording D7 (WITHOUT any capacitor!!!) should give a fine dubbing cable. (I hope I got the pin-numbers right ...) I haven't tested it, but I'm quite shure it will work. DO NOT use a capacitor in the TX to RX connection since these are full level CMOS logic signals. A capacitor in series might cause problems because introducing DC offset. If the cable is reasonable short (i.e. less than half a meter), any cable will do - I could think of (unshielded) twisted pair ... I hope this helps - it would be nice if you could send me email about the outcomings of your D7->D7 dubbing cable experiments ...
